Heritage
We’ve worked with the Heritage Officers in Fingal, Wicklow and Monaghan on developing heritage plans for their respective counties in line with Heritage Council guidance. We assist with all aspects of the process from planning, implementation and reporting on consultation with the public and other stakeholders, to drafting and finalising the written plans.

In 2022 we completed a Heritage Audit and a framework for interpretation for the Donabate-Portrane Peninsula for Fingal County Council Heritage Office. We have worked with Baldoyle Wild Towns and Blooming Crumlin (funded by the Heritage Council Community Grants Scheme) to complete similar projects for both areas. Audits involve extensive community consultation online and in person, heritage workshops in schools and working with local people who advised and assisted on the project and acted as community liaison. All three projects were community centred and focussed on providing a roadmap for each community to highlight, celebrate and ultimately protect local heritage.

In 2023 Blas, Fingal’s Food Heritage project, was developed to record and celebrate traditions, attitudes, beliefs, and practices that surround the production and consumption of food and to introduce different food traditions to new audiences through the theme of food heritage. We’ve conducted research, engaged the community to gather memories, and recipes, supported development of a BLAS website, story map and lesson plans for primary schools, and organised heritage week events.
