Education
We have over 30 years experience of working with clients to develop and deliver STEM and sustainability programmes for schools. We support clients with developing classroom resources, teacher professional development, and school awards programmes as well as offering advice and support on programme development.
We have been Education Specialists (in collaboration with H2 Learning) on the Research Ireland Curious Minds Programme since 2004. We have been involved in development of resources and teacher CPD to support teaching STEM through inquiry and the development and assessment of the Curious Minds Awards annually. We also assist with the accreditation and coordination of a network of Discover Centres that offer STEM workshops for primary schools nationwide.
The Heritage in Schools provides a panel of experts in heritage who visit primary schools to support engagement with built, natural and cultural heritage at a local level. We have undertaken reviews and evaluations of the Scheme and been involved in interview panels for recruitment of specialists.
We’ve worked with SEAI on developing, pilot testing and evaluation of teaching resources and schools initiatives, including the One Good Idea project to support teaching about sustainable energy within the school curriculum. We also developed and managed the Energy in Education programme (2010-2021) a programme of energy management courses, guides, factsheets and advice to support schools in saving energy and reducing their carbon footprint.
The Education Team at Galway Atlantaquaria aims to provide affordable, engaging and educational programmes to visitors to the aquarium as well as the general public through outreach. We facilitated workshops with the team to review the programme and inform development of a three-year strategy.
